The name fat burning diet is misleading. Diets do not burn fat. You will only lose fat from your body through exercise.

If you want to lose fat, you are going to have to exercise. But, you cant just do any exercise. Not all exercise burns fat. You are going to have to learn about fat burning exercise.

But Much Has Been Written About Fat Burning Diets

Correct.  A fat burning diet is an eating program to follow that will help you to lose fat faster, when doing a fat burning exercise program. A fat burning diet enables more rapid fat burning to occur as a result of your exercise.  Without one, fat loss may not occur at all.

Diets Have Helped People To Lose Weight

It is absolutely right that you can lose weight by dieting. However too many people think that the terms fat loss and weight loss are interchangable, but they are not. You need to exercise, when dieting, if you want to lose fat. You wont achieve fat loss by dieting, but you may achieve weight loss.

How You Gain Weight

The process by which you gain weight, and fat, is easy to  understand.  When you use fewer calories than you eat, you add weight and fat to your body.

When the number of calories eaten is greater, the excess is stored on  your body as fat. When you consume 3,500 calories more than you expend, 1 pound of fat gets added to your body.

If you apply logic to this, you would expect to lose 1 pound of fat from your body by eating 3,500 fewer calories than you expend. I am sorry to tell you that if you reverse the process you used to add fat to your body, you will not necessarily take it off.

You will not lose fat, if you try to do so by diet alone.  Weight loss will occur, if you do that. The weight loss will come from a loss of water in your body and a loss of  muscle mass.

What You Will See When You Diet Without Exercise

If you dont exercise when dieting, you will see weight loss when you get on your scales. But your mirror will tell you a different story. You will still see the fat on your body that prompted you to “go on a diet” in the first place. Furthermore, whatever level of muscle definition you had - will be replaced by sagging skin.

To make matters  worse, you are likely to regain the weight that you lost when you come off the diet. When you finish dieting, your body will renew its water level to allow it to function properly. Also it is bad for your health to stay long term on a diet that depletes water and muscle mass from your body.

You may not like the way in which the body operates in connection with fat, but you need know about it.

Fat Burning Diet: Eating To Lose Fat

There is more to it than just what you eat. It also has to do with how you eat and when you eat. The internet and bookstores abound with articles and books on what to eat in order to maximize fat burning. You may find that such eating recommendations constrain you too much.

If you find it to be too strict, just use your common sense about your diet. Nobody has to tell you that you will not lose fat if you regularly eat meals at fast food restaurants and drink a lot of beer.

If you use common sense on your selection of food to eat, and you follow a fat burning exercise regimen, fat loss will occur if you reduce the number of calories that you eat to less than the calories that you use. Having done that, when you eat and how you eat will play a much bigger role in helping to lose fat.
